Amy Minzghor

Guardianship Specialist

Amy Minzghor is more than a Guardianship and Adoption Specialist–she’s a lifelong advocate, experienced systems navigator, and compassionate guide for families during some of life’s most significant transitions. Since joining Alan R. Harrison Law in 2022, Amy has supported clients through the legal process of guardianship and adoption with a steady presence and a deep understanding of the emotional landscape families face.

Her professional insight is rooted in decades of personal and practical experience. As a parent to children with disabilities, a former foster and guardianship parent, and an adoptive parent, Amy has lived many of the same journeys our clients are navigating. Her family’s story of growth and resilience shaped her passion for helping others and launched her into advocacy work that spans the state.

Amy brings a unique combination of skills, including: crisis management, resource coordination, paperwork organization, and a natural ability to connect and listen. She has a remarkable gift for guiding families through complex systems with empathy and efficiency, always ensuring they feel seen and supported.

In addition to her role at the firm, Amy is deeply involved in her community and statewide advocacy efforts. She serves as Chair of the 7th Judicial District Citizens Review Panel, which provides oversight and recommendations on open child welfare cases. Her leadership extends to roles on the Idaho Parent Network for Children’s Mental Health, Region 7 Behavioral Health Board, Children’s Mental Health Subcommittee, Community Suicide Prevention, and Community Youth in Action. Amy has been instrumental in supporting the implementation of Idaho’s YES System of Care through committee work and by lending her voice as a parent representative.

Amy has completed extensive specialized trainings and courses over the years to support her advocacy and professional development, and previously studied at Portland State University. She lives in Iona, Idaho, where she and her husband enjoy a bustling, blended family of nine children and a growing number of grandchildren. She finds joy in singing, traveling, lending a hand to others, and making people feel valued and uplifted.

Originally from the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, Amy relocated to Idaho in 1999 and quickly knew she was home. She was drawn to Alan R. Harrison Law by the firm’s unwavering dedication to families like hers—those navigating complex systems with courage and love. She feels deeply connected to a team that blends compassion, professionalism, and real-world insight to support the families who need it most.
